How-to guides
Hand over a QR campaign without losing its destinations
Hand over the destination domain, editable page, source artwork, exact QR payload and deployment register together. Confirm that the receiving team can maintain the destination without your account. A static QR file transfers easily; a vendor-owned redirect or privately hosted document may remain dependent on the original provider or operator.
Transfer the whole chain
A QR campaign has at least three assets: the printed image, the URL encoded in it, and the resource that URL opens. Sending the PNG transfers only the first. The client needs access to maintain the other two after the agency engagement ends.
Prepare a handover pack with source SVG or PDF files, exact payloads, the original spreadsheet for bulk campaigns, physical placement records and the last acceptance results. Include the intended user action and a contact for destination maintenance.
Inspect ownership before approval
Decode a representative existing image with the scanner. Read the actual hostname, rather than relying on the caption below the artwork. Identify who controls the domain, redirect configuration and final content.
Where a vendor-owned URL is already printed, the image cannot be rewritten remotely. If the domain owner will not transfer or continue the redirect, replacing the code on physical material may be necessary. Do not promise a migration that preserves printed images unless the encoded hostname and path will continue to work.
Test the receiving team's access
Have the new owner update the destination using their own account and confirm the printed code still opens the intended page. Remove departed staff access through the organisation's existing systems. Do not circulate credentials in a spreadsheet or QR payload.
For new campaigns, an organisation-owned stable path such as https://example.com/events is easier to hand over than a personal file-sharing link. Keep that path maintained even when the page design or hosting system changes.
Record acceptance and responsibilities
Agree who owns domain renewal, page updates, physical inspections and retirement of old print. Set a review date and explain what happens if the destination moves. Export a final register into a format the recipient can open without your software.
UseQR generates static codes without an account, but does not take responsibility for the lifetime of the linked page. This workflow complements the migration guide and avoids discovering ownership problems after printing.
FAQ
Can I transfer a QR PNG to another team?
Yes. Maintaining the destination also requires control of the encoded URL and the content behind it.
Can a new generator rescue a printed vendor redirect?
Only if the existing encoded URL remains under usable control. A generator cannot alter an image already printed.
