Four scan-frame corners locked onto a single module, the exact moment of using a QR code. The name is the verb; so is the mark. Everything on this page is free to use when referring to UseQR.

The mark

  • Minimum size: 16 px on screen, 5 mm in print. Below that, use the module alone.
  • Clear space: the width of the centre module (26% of the mark) on all sides.
  • Colour: one colour, always Indigo 600 on paper, Indigo 400 on dark, or plain black/white.

The wordmark is Instrument Sans 600 at −0.025em: "Use" in ink, "QR" in indigo. In app contexts the mark sits in the 8-radius tile.

The page is warm so the artifact reads cold. Indigo is spent sparingly (one primary action per view), and signal green is not a colour, it is a verdict.

Usage

Do and don't

Short list, firmly held.

Do

  • Use the mark to link to or write about UseQR.
  • Put it on any background that keeps 3:1 contrast.
  • Use plain black or white when indigo is unavailable.
  • Scale it: it is four strokes and a rect; it survives anything.

Don't

  • Recolour, rotate, outline, shadow or gradient it.
  • Set the wordmark in another face or tracking.
  • Imply UseQR endorses your product or generated content.
  • Use it as the logo overlay inside a QR code you sell.
