Frequently asked questions

Which banking apps can scan an EPC QR code?
Most European banking apps: Sparkasse, Volksbank, ING, DKB, comdirect, Erste, Raiffeisen, and many more have a scan button in their transfer screen. It is common in Germany and Austria, where it is known as Girocode.
What does the customer see when they scan?
A pre-filled SEPA transfer — your name, IBAN, the amount, and the reference — inside their own banking app. They just confirm it, so typos in the IBAN or reference disappear entirely.
Do I need to enter the BIC?
Usually not — SEPA transfers within the EEA have not required a BIC since 2016. Add it only if you expect payments from banks outside that area, such as Switzerland or the UK.
Can I paste my IBAN with spaces?
Yes — paste it exactly as it appears on your bank statement. We strip the spaces and verify the checksum, so an invalid IBAN can never make it into the code.
Is this suitable for invoices?
Very — print it on the invoice with the amount and invoice number as the reference, and reconciliation gets easier for both sides. Free forever, no signup, generated in your browser.
